We were in town for a convention and decided to try this BBQ spot. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted promptly, and there was plenty of seating available. My wife and I shared a 3-way combo, choosing brisket, pork ribs, and shredded chicken. The meal came with cornbread and one side, so we picked collard greens. We also added a second piece of cornbread and a side of potato salad. The ribs were excellent--fall-off-the-bone tender--and the brisket had a good smoky flavor and was perfectly tender. However, the shredded chicken was disappointing. It lacked any smoke flavor and came off as just basic shredded chicken. On the table, there were three different BBQ sauces to try, which was a nice touch. My wife enjoyed her piece of cornbread, saying it was very good. Unfortunately, mine was a corner piece and was a bit dry and hard. The collard greens were delicious, while the potato salad was decent but could have used a bit more seasoning to elevate it. The staff was very nice and attentive, which made for a pleasant dining experience overall. The location was convenient, as it's within walking distance of the Gaylord Resort where we're staying. The atmosphere is lively, with plenty of TVs to catch the big games. They also serve craft beer and have a full bar menu. Overall, it was a good night out with some solid BBQ options, though a few dishes missed the mark.

I literally stumbled here during a staycation at the Gaylord based on a recommendation from my bartender at the hotel. I wanted a black owned establishment, with good food and a good crowd but not over crowded. This place hit the bar. The cat fish nuggets were delicious, well seasoned, flavorful and piping hot. Dory the bartender Inspite of her servicing the entire bar she was attentive and fast. This may be a second round spot.

We had a pleasant experience here. My family arrived with our toddler close to 10pm on a Thursday and Q(part of the security team) took the time to ask a manager if we could be seated. We appreciated this alone. Then we were seated and the positive vibes remained with Jasmine as our server. She was upbeat, fast and checked on us throughout our time ther. I ordered the brisket platter with collard greens as my side and cornbread. I enjoyed my entire meal. Parts of my brisket was a little dry but most of it was just right. We'll more than likely be back.

Not sure why the service got such bad reviews, I went with friends on a Friday night and service was spot on from the hostess and waitress to runners. Food was good. I had the fried chicken platter with fried brussel sprouts. Chicken was hot, flavorful and you get 4 pieces! The brussel sprouts were too oily. Platter came with a decent piece of cornbread (lightly sweetened and with bits of corn). My friends shared the bbq wings and beef brisket nachos. The wings were great, but nachos were too sweet a too heavy bbq sauce that overpowered the cheese sauce.
